What is DTF printing and how does it work?

DTF (direct-to-film) printing prints your design onto clear PET film with pigment inks, coats it with hot-melt adhesive powder, cures it, and transfers it to the garment with a heat press. It works on cotton, polyester, blends, light garments and dark garments, with no screens, no set-up fees and no weeding.

What fabrics can DTF transfers be applied to?

DTF transfers work on cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, canvas, denim and fleece, in both light and dark colours. Every HEX DTF transfer includes a white under-base so colours stay accurate on dark and patterned fabric.

What is the difference between DTF and sublimation?

DTF sits on the surface of the fabric and works on cotton, blends and dark garments. Sublimation dyes the fibres and only works on white or light polyester and polyester-rich blends.

Is there a minimum order quantity for DTF transfers?

No. HEX DTF has no minimum order quantity. A single gang sheet and a full production roll receive the same quality and turnaround.

How long do DTF transfers last?

Correctly applied DTF transfers last 50 or more wash cycles. Sublimation transfers last 100 or more washes. Wash inside out at 40°C or below and do not tumble dry.

Do you offer same-day dispatch on DTF orders?

Yes. All DTF and sublimation orders confirmed before 12:00PM are dispatched the same working day. UK delivery is free on orders over £75 excluding VAT.

What file formats do you accept for DTF printing?

PDF, PNG and AI files. Supply artwork at 300 DPI with a transparent background and an embedded sRGB colour profile.
